Michael P. Laris, 72, of Rochester, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, in West Hills Health and Rehab Center. Born February 14, 1947, in Rochester, a son of Helen Peterson Frederick, Rochester, and the late Peter Laris, he was a retired employee of the Freedom Area School District. He was the former owner of Philly’s Bar and Grill, Phoenix, Ariz., and a laborer with the Laborers’ Union, New Brighton. Michael was a member and bartender with the New Brighton Eagles, a former employee with Kareyes Party and Tent Rental, North Sewickley Twp., and a social member of the Rochester VFW Post 128. He is survived by his loving partner, Connie L. Hoopes Madish; one son, and daughter-in-law, Michael P. and Jannasue Laris, Brighton Twp.; two stepsons, Jason Sumpter, North Sewickley Twp. and Jesse Sumpter, Rochester; three grandchildren, Luke Laris, Mason Matteo, and a special grandson, Mason Sumpter; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Tracy Laris, Phoenix, Ariz.; a nephew, Destry Laris; and numerous special friends. Michael’s wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester.
