Margaret J. Lotz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margaret Jean Sayre Lotz, 98, of Zelienople, formerly of North Sewickley Twp., passed away May 14, 2022 under the care of Passavant Retirement Center, Zelienople. Born September 1, 1923 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Cory Sayre. Margaret worked at Bell Telephone and at the Riverside School District as a cook in the cafeteria. Later she became the head cook at Hillcrest Elementary School. Margaret and Jim moved to Passavant Retirement Village eighteen years ago where she volunteered at the Gently Used Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Lotz in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Delores Sayre and Mary Richards, and a son in law, Gregory Smith. She is survived by a sister, Gladys Baxter, Grove City; three children, Robert Lotz and his wife, Linda, North Port, Florida, Kathy Smith, Ohio Twp., and Nancy Hensel and her husband, Charles, Wheeling, WV; six grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11 AM in the Seaman Memorial Chapel, at Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S. Main Street, Zelienople, PA 16063. Officiating will be Rev. Gregory S. Clagg of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rochester. Margaret was interred at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. Arrangements were in the care of the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 349 Adams Street, Rochester. Memorial Contributions may be made, if desired, to Lutheran Senior Life Foundation, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Trillium and Larkspur for the care they provided for our mother.
