Margaret A. Folland, 85, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2015, at the Franciscan Manor. She was born April 23, 1930, in Monaca, a daughter of the late Elmer and Myrtle Barthurst Folland. She was a retired employee with Westinghouse Corp. of Vanport for 46 years. She was a member of the former Zion United Methodist Church, Daugherty Twp., presently the Faith Community United Methodist Church. Affectionately called "Aunt Gee" or "Aunt Margie" by her many nieces and nephews, she was known for her strength, intelligence, and nurturing character that included a flare for humor and quick wit. Aunt Gee was admired for her strong sense of independence and as someone who never backed away from a challenge. She courageously faced down cancer, endured the loss of loved ones, and took on the role of caretaker for family members in need. Aunt Gee was a hard worker and loved her many years at Westinghouse where she made wonderful lifelong friends. She will certainly be missed but her generous heart will forever be a part of our lives. She is survived by one sister, Grace Noss, Monaca Heights; a sister-in-law, Alma Folland, Alleghany, NY; five nieces, Judith Bingle and her husband, Harold, Rochester Twp.; Deborah Mannella, and her husband, Wayne, Economy Borough; Carol Ann Frank and her husband, Robert, Monaca; Roberta White and her husband, James, Zelienople and Rebecca Ahearn and her husband, Rick, Aliquippa; a nephew, Kevin Noss and his wife, Marge, Ohio, and beloved great-nieces and great-nephews who were very close to Margaret, Patrick and Kathy Bingle, Wendy Holbrook, Jake Bingle, Tim and Christina Mannella and Christine Mannella Curcio and Brett Curcio. Numerous other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Peruzzi and Vivian Headland; a brother, Harold Folland; three brothers-in-law, Til Peruzzi, Wilber Headland and Robert Noss and a close friend, Paul Waggoner. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Angela Smith Intern Pastor, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rochester. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery. Family wishes contributions be made to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001. The family wishes to thank the staff of Franciscan Manor for their loving care given to Margaret, especially Misty Gilbo and also the caregivers of Homemaker Home Health Agency, especially Pam Young, for their devoted care.
