Lois R. Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lois R. Smith, 73, went home to be with her Lord peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on May 26, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford. Born December 3, 1948 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lois “Becky” Moore Walker. She was a Registered Nurse with Concordia Visiting Nurses and was a Registered Nurse for 55 years, with various offices. She was a member of Oak Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Sewickley, Twp., where she had been a volunteer with various church activities, including Past President of the Church Council and Past President of Mutual Ministry. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Victor W. “Bill” Smith, Jr. She is also survived by two daughters and one son in law, Tammie S. Kemp, Rochester, and Trisha J. and Mark Lawless, Mars, PA; three sons and one daughter in law, Darren P. and Tammy Smith, New Brighton, Jeffrey F. Grant, Clarksville, Tennessee, and Matthew, J. Grant, Ambridge; 16 grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Kelsey, Audrey, Jill, Megan, Elaina, Jonathan, Jenna, Kenny, Ashley, Alex, Alyssa, Kaitlyn, Jordan, and Harrison; 16 great –grandchildren; one sister, Susan Philipp, Beaver Falls, as well as her feline companion, Minnie. She was preceded by one son, Mark E. Grant, and a son in law, David Kemp. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 349 Adams Street, Rochester, and from 10 – 11 am Wednesday, at the Oak Grove Lutheran Church, Zelienople, with service following. Officiating will be her Pastor, Rev. Nathaneil Christman. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.
