Josephine S. Clayton, 94, formerly of East Rochester, passed away Friday, May 05, 2017, in Rochester Villa. Born August 18, 1922, in Coraopolis, a daughter of the late Eugene and Elvina Spezialetti Liberatore, she was a retired sales clerk with the former Adoria Shoppe, Rochester. She was a member of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Parish, Rochester, and the New Brighton Circle of Friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry H. Clayton, in 2012; two brothers, Arnold and Eugene Liberatore, and a sister, Agatha Gay Paul. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Dennis and Lynn J. Clayton, Beaver, and Edward and Patricia Clayton, Mint Hill, N.C.; three grandchildren, Zachary Clayton, Charlotte, N.C.; Dr. Marc G. Clayton and his wife Brittany, Mars, Pa., and Kelsey and Ben Teufel, Brighton Twp.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Leah F. and Walt Hoffmeier, Rochester Twp., and Neva Clark, Rochester; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jack Liberatore, New Brighton, and Fred and Betty Liberatore, Maple Grove, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester Twp. Private interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
