Irene M. Ferrand, 97, of Beaver Falls, formerly of Freedom, passed away Friday, December 22, 2017, in Heritage Valley Beaver. Born August 10, 1920, in Salem, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jobst Blistan. She was a retired LPN at Sewickley Valley Hospital, and was a member of New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Economy Boro. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor G. Ferrand, in 1998; a great-grandson, Brandon Fraser; a great-great-granddaughter, Sierra Bernard; a son-in-law, Nicholas Puppich; a sister, Ernestine Blistan; five brothers, John, Lewis, Milan, Edward and Jerry Blistan. Survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Ernestine R. Puppich, Economy Boro; Vicki I. and Kenneth Hissam, Baden; Janis E. Holsinger, East Rochester; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas V. and Shirley “Shan” Ferrand, Columbiana, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. Services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Martin Galbraith. Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the New Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 Second Ave., Freedom, PA 15042.
