Elizabeth A. Blackburn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Elizabeth A. “Beth” Powers Blackburn, 53, of Daugherty Twp., passed away April 11, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her family and friends who were also family. Born September 7, 1968 in Rochester, she was the daughter of Joan Primo Powers Suman, New Brighton and the late John R. Powers, Sr. She was an employee of the Foodland, New Brighton, and a member of St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Rochester. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, David W. Blackburn. She is also survived by twin sons, Adam D. Blackburn, and his girlfriend, Madison, New Brighton, and Andrew John Blackburn, Daugherty Twp.; one brother and sister in law, John R. Jr. and Lydia Powers, Morgantown, W. VA; two sisters and brothers in law, Tina and David Gill, Daugherty Twp., and Joanna and Bud Cloughley, Spotsylvania, VA; three additional brothers in law, and four additional sisters in law, Carl E. Jr. and Debbie Blackburn, Harvest, Alabama, Jeffrey and Kim Blackburn, Fullerton, California, Michael and Leah Blackburn, Daugherty Twp., and Vicki Blackburn Linta, Whittier, California, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother in law and father in law, Carl E. and Mary Blackburn and a beloved cousin, Becki Powers Ekkert. Friends will be received Monday, April 18, 2022 from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 349 Adams Street, Rochester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 am in St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Rochester. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family wishes to thank Samantha, Cassie, Wendy, Diane, Ashley and Brittany who were her beloved caregivers for the comfort given to Beth, and also two dear friends and co-workers, Andrea and Michelle who were with her from the beginning to the end of her battle.
