    Edward Robert Bozek

    April 5, 1936 - July 23, 2017

    Edward Robert Bozek, 81, was a longtime resident of Rochester Twp. Born April 5, 1936, in Conway, Ed was one of nine children of the late Joseph W. and Jennie Jaworska Bozek. He died peacefully July 23, 2017, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was a former supervisor in the construction and engineering department at J&L Steel and LTV Steel Corp., Aliquippa. Ed was also a construction supervisor for Sargent Electric at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant and then retired in 2004 from Timken Industrial Services, where he was employed as a field engineer. Ed was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. In earlier years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and member of the Conway Sportsmen's Club. Ed graduated in 1954 from Rochester High School. He also was a draftsman and designed and drew blueprints for many homes in the Beaver County area. Ed was also an award winning artist and former member of the Beaver Art Group. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 60 years, Yvonne M. (Ruby) Bozek, and his three children, Edward R. Jr. and Patti Bozek, Moon Twp.; David J. Bozek, San Diego, CA., and Amy S. and Howard Grunloh, Carlsbad, Calif. In addition to his children, he is survived by five beloved grandchildren, Eugene "Gene" and Kevin Bozek, and Brian, Edward and Amanda Grunloh; a brother, Joseph Bozek and his wife Virginia; four sisters, Dorothy Quesenberry, Mary Ann Warga, Louise Blinn and her husband Don, and Stella Bartolovic and her husband Bernie; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Carol Bozek, and Gene Ruby and his wife Rexine, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis "Frank" Bozek; two sisters, Josephine Griffith and Eleanor Bock, and four brothers-in-law, C.M. Griffith, William Quesenberry, Elmer Bock and Stephen Warga. Friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester Twp. Interment will follow in St. Cecilia Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The family wishes memorial contributions be made, if desired, to Villa St. Joseph, 1030 State St., Baden, PA 15005. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Oliver, Dr. William Slemenda and the staff of Vila St. Joseph, Baden, for their outstanding care and compassion.
