Donald Glenn Farris, 92, of Baden, passed away peacefully from complications from pneumonia on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. He was born in Pierce, W.Va., the son of the late Albert Farris and Bessie Ervin Farris. He retired from American Bridge, after 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Rim during World War II and was a member of the Baden American Legion for over 50 years. He spent his retirement mastering line dancing and ballroom dancing at local senior centers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty Ann Miller Farris; his sisters, Lena Bartlett and Eula Moorehead and his brothers, Albert, Ervin, Leland, William, Elwood and Paul. He is survived by his five children and their spouses, Barbara Farris, Baden, Linda and Alan Goehring, Surfside Beach, S.C., (formerly of Rochester), Donald and Lynn Farris, Mentor Ohio, Michael and April Farris, Cleveland, Ohio and Jeffery Farris and partner, Ray Roberts, Surfside Beach S.C.; six grandchildren, Jason Goehring and fiancé Crystal Guzik, Glen Easton, W.Va., Savannah Dugan and husband, Paul, Lakewood Ohio, Hunter Farris and wife, Calynne, Jamestown, N.Y., Nicole Farris and partner, Gene Biondi, Rochester, Erica Brown and husband, Justin, Cleveland Ohio and Bethann Farris, Cleveland Ohio, and eight great-grandchildren, Michael Reeder, Madison Farris, Emily Dempsey, Valencia Dugan, Fiona Dugan, Felicity Farris, Amara Farris and Landon Brown. Friends will be received Friday, August 23, 2019, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of the service at 11 a.m. in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester. Officiating will be his daughter-in-law, Pastor April Farris. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to Circle of Friends, Inc., Baden Senior Community Center, 371 Linmore Avenue, Baden PA 15005 or American Legion Post 641, 271 State Street, Baden PA 15005.
