Dennis D. Shaffer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dennis D. Shaffer, 68, of Rochester, passed away August 2, 2022 in Allegheny Health Network, Wexford. Born March 31, 1954 in Rochester, he was the son of the late Edward and Kathleen McHattie Shaffer. He was a retired employee through the Laborer’s Union Local 1058, and presently with the Lindy Paving Co., New Galilee. Dennis was an avid stock car / auto racing fan and was Catholic by faith. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith A. Gillingham Shaffer. He is also survived by two daughters and sons in law, Marcie J. and Dan Sisco, Rochester and Michelle R. and Ken Swab, New Sewickley Twp.; one son, Dennis S. Shaffer, Rochester; eight grandchildren, Taylor Shaffer, Kenny, Ashley, Andrew, and Colt Swab, and Gianna, Gemma, and Nico Sisco; one sister, Deborah Sockaci, New Sewickley Twp.; his canine companions, Abby, Cassie, and Roxy as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Jack and Raymond Shaffer, and a sister, Catherine Gavalya. His wishes were to have a family only visitation with no services. Arrangements are in the care of the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC. 349 Adams Street, Rochester.
