Dennis Clair McCoy Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dennis Clair McCoy, 81, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Beaver Falls. Born May 11, 1935, in South Heights, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Kidwell McCoy, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years as an intelligence analyst. His tours of duty included Bremerhaven, Germany, Fort Meade, Md., Ankara, Turkey, Anchorage, Alaska, the Philippine Islands, Misawa, Japan, and San Antonio, Texas. A highly decorated Senior Master Sergeant, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and served during both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Dennis graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor's degree of Business Administration and continued serving his country working an additional 20 years in civil service. Dennis loved nature, fishing, country and western music and dancing. He served as post commander of the San Antonio VFW No. 9174 and as president of his HOA, Green Glen Acres. Surviving are his former wife, Kiley A. (Stablow) McCoy; a son, John P. McCoy, Clinton, Pa.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen A. McCoy and Stephanie L. McCoy, both of Rochester Twp., and Lisa and Gary Salamido, Cary, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jared, Shelby, Joe, Gianna, Jordan and Gioia; a great-grandson, Joshua; a sister, Colleen, East Liverpool, Ohio, and two brothers, David McCoy of Chico, Calif., and Rory McCoy, South Heights. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Jo Bomback. Surrounded by family, Dennis was interred at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Thursday, April 13, 2017. A memorial celebration of his life and his sister's, Peggy Bomback, will be held at a later date. Arrangements by WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME INC., 349 Adams St., Rochester.
