Carl E. Blackburn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carl E. “Blackie” Blackburn, Sr., 86, of Rochester Twp., passed away December 27, 2021 in Heritage Valley, Beaver. Born July 11, 1935 in Cottageville, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Wayne J. Blackburn and the late Leoda Mae Wilson Blackburn Lutz. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, John A. Lutz. He was a retired employee with St. Joe Minerals, Potter Twp., and Packard Electric, Warren, Ohio where he had been a sheet metal worker in the Tinner High Tech Shop. He was a member of St Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, Rochester, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Army National Guard, New Brighton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. Hovancik Blackburn in 2012. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul W. and Dale H. Blackburn. He is survived by one daughter, Vicki M. Linta, Whittier, California; four sons and daughters in law, Carl E. Jr., and Debbie Blackburn, Harvest, Alabama, Jeffrey A. and Kim Blackburn, Fullerton, California, David W. and Beth Blackburn, and Michael A. and Leah Saloio Blackburn, all of Daugherty Twp.; ten grandchildren, Samantha, Danny and his wife, Lauren, Nathan and his wife, Alix, Ben, Jason and his wife, Leslie, Elissa and her husband, Stephen, Andrew M., Adam, Andrew J., and Noel; twelve great grandchildren, Tabitha, Jennifer, Lewis, Christian, Collin, Harper, Zachary, Justin, Lilly, Collin, Brandon, and Isabel, as well as a beloved friend, Linda Gomory. Friends will be received Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 1-3PM & 6-8PM in the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 349 Adams Street, Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, at 10 am in St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Rochester. Interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Twp. A Christian Wake Service will be held Sunday at 2:30pm in the Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Cecilia R.C. Church, 628 Virginia Avenue, Rochester, PA 15074.
